The Michigan Court of Appeals [ht: sm] on Monday ordered state officials to put a voter initiative that would enshrine the right to collective bargaining in the state constitution on the 6 November ballot.*
*OK, technically it’s a “legal decision of the day.” But I’m not going to make up a new category. And the measure, known as the “Protect Our Jobs” initiative, does represent a protest by unions in Michigan against attacks on workers’ rights that are eating away at wages, health care benefits, retirement security, and safety protections in the state.
