The hosts of the NPR program “Car Talk,” Tom and Ray Magliozzi, aka Click and Clack, the Tappet Brothers, have announced their retirement.

Some “friends” have likened my laugh to theirs. I don’t know if that’s a compliment or an insult. . .

Today, starting at noon Pacific Time and running (except for the news headlines) for the entire hour, Against the Grain will be airing an interview with me they taped last Thursday. The interview covered a wide range of topics, from the Second Great Depression in the United States to the effects of austerity measures in Greece.

Against the Grain on Pacifica Radio airs on KPFA 94.1 FM in the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond, and on KFCF 88.1 FM in Fresno and California’s Central Valley. Against the Grain also broadcasts worldwide via kpfa.org. The audio will be archived afterward, in on-demand and downloadable forms, at againstthegrain.org.

Update

An audio file of the program, called The Big Hurt, is now available here. And here’s the Facebook page, if you liked the show.
