There are two things worth commenting on with respect to this chart: First, it illustrates recent research by Gabriel Zucman, which I’ve already written above (here), on how the wealth of the super-affluent (hidden by tax shelters and nonresponse to questionnaires) is routinely undercounted. Second, the link to the article in which this chart appears was sent to me by a former student, who was drawn to the quotes from Joseph Stiglitz because he’d read Stiglitz’s book, The Price of Inequality, in one of my classes.

Who says students don’t learn at least some of what we teach them?
