Banksy, “Banality of the Banality of Evil” (2013)

Back in 2013, toward the end of his one-month stay in New York, Banksy found and “vandalized” a painting he found in a local thrift store, Housing Works. The mission of the nonprofit is “to end the dual crises of homelessness and AIDS through relentless advocacy, the provision of lifesaving services, and entrepreneurial businesses that sustain our efforts.”

He then redonated the “painting” to the thrift store, which received the proceeds from its sale.
